After a long winter, your skin is
probably in desperate need of a little therapy. As warm weather approaches,
consider setting up an appointment to bring your skin back to a happy and
supple state. Any one of these treatments can help rejuvenate your skin.
Facials
It's not easy keeping your facial skin moist during the chilly months.
While moisturizers help, a facial can help restore your sensitive skin to its
pre-winter beauty. Aside from hydrating your skin, facials typically include a
mini-massage too. Your scalp, neck and shoulders are relieved of tension while
a facial mask works its magic on your skin.
Swedish massage
Summer should be a relaxing time. It's all about family and
fun. To set the tone for the season, swing by for a Swedish
massage. By using therapeutic techniques, our therapist can rid your body of
stress. Plus, the soothing lotions and oils used during a Swedish massage are
designed to enrich your skin. Consider taking your mom or your best gal pal and
make a day of it.
Salt Glow
Get your skin ready for summer with a salt glow. This
treatment uses sea salt to exfoliate the skin. This is combined with essential oils that revive your skin.
If you're a first time spa-goer, don't be afraid to ask questions during your
appointment. Time here should be relaxing and our skilled staff will do everything they can to put your mind at ease. Call us at and schedule your appointment today.

Right up there with the your walk up
the aisle, the I dos, and the kiss, one of the big highlights of your wedding
ceremony will be the ring exchange. As the photographer and videographer take
position to get that close-up shot of the groom placing the ring on your
finger, one thing is certain, you will want beautiful nails to be a part of
that memory that's captured for eternity. There is no end to the list of manicure options available to you for your big
day, and you are guaranteed to find something that suits your tastes.
Pre-Wedding Hand & Nail Care
The quest for beautiful hands and nails to show off your "bling" on the big day
should begin weeks before your wedding. If you're not a regular at the
manicure station, there are a few things you can do at home to prepare.
Use a mild exfoliate, like an oatmeal scrub, to help slough off dead skin and ensure your hands are smooth. But remember the skin on your hands
is delicate, so be gentle. Moisturizing is also key to soft, smooth hands, and exfoliation will better
prepare them for your moisturizer, ensuring it is easily absorbed and better
able to do its job. Apply your favorite moisturizer during the day as needed,
and be sure to reapply before bed, along with a cuticle oil, cream or balm so
that they have time while you sleep to work their magic. Try wearing manicure
gloves to bed for a more intensive treatment.
Planning Your Bridal Manicure
If you have your nails done regularly that's half the work done. If this is your first visit however, be sure to come in and look at colors and designs. Knowing the type of manicure you want is vital, since this will determine
how close to your wedding day you should book your appointment. The application
process for acrylics, for example, is a lengthy one. So it may be best to book
this manicure a couple of days before the wedding.
Whatever your choice, book a trial run before your actual wedding day so you
know how the manicure will look, how long it will take to complete it, and even
its staying power once completed - you may want something that stands up to the
rigors of your honeymoon *wink*. Once you've settled on the shape and length you want your nails to be, it's
time for the artistry to begin.
French Mani
It's an unspoken truth, that the Rolls Royce of bridal nail couture is the
French Manicure. This quintessential wedding day mani is soft, understated and
classy, paving the way for the bride and her gown to be the showpieces of the
day.
For the more daring bride who may find the traditional pink or beige and white
stripe French a bit boring, there are modern takes on this age-old favorite
that incorporate bolder colors. Ask our manicurist what's on offer. You may
find one with a twist that suits your tastes.
Caviar Mani
If statement nails are your thing, forget about nail art and opt instead for
the absolute luxe manicure nail divas and gurus everywhere are raving about.
This 3D effect mani is not for the timid; it oozes movie star luxury and
glamour. It is called the Caviar Manicure after all.
It's is a two-step process. Nails are first painted in the color of your choice.
While the polish is still wet, tiny beads are sprinkled on the surface - a
simple process with amazing results. With a staying power of just 48 hours at best, this is definitely not a long
lasting mani, so it may be wise to have it done the
morning of your wedding, but no later than the day before.
Gel Mani
For the bride looking for a manicure with super staying power, invoke the name
that's on every nail diva's lips. When you're back from your honeymoon and
friends are in awe of the fact that your manicure still looks as fresh as the
day you got it, simply quip, "I had them Shellacked!" The trademarked Shellac formula by CND Nails kicked off the power polish trend,
but since then, several brands have launched their own versions of the gel
manicure that promises two week, chip free nails.
The process includes a special basecoat, followed by the gel nail color of your
choice and a special topcoat. A special UV lamp is used to cure the layers,
giving them a scratch-resistant, high-shine finish. Application time is usually
around 30-minutes, wear time, two weeks, perfect for the bride who wants her
manicure to be top notch for both her wedding and honeymoon.
Remember, your wedding day is exactly that, your day. So, don't be bound by
traditions that suggest your nails must be a particular color, shape or style.
Opt for a manicure that complements your personality, your style, and, of
course, your dress. Most of all, be sure of the quality of the manicure you opt
for, after all, the last thing you want is your perfectly lacquered nails
chipping on your big day and either ruining or being forced out of your photos.

There's a variety of ways to battle chronic pain. While modern science tends to encourage people to take pills, there are more natural ways to manage pain. In some cases, people incorporate natural pain relief methods with traditional medicine. The trick to pain management is finding a recipe that works for you. If you're interested in learning about natural ways to handle pain, check out these three methods below:
Meditation
By quieting the mind and body, studies show meditation can offer patients a way to control pain. Mindfulness meditation, where a person focuses on feelings and sensations, can help decrease stress and pain. There are differing schools of thought on the proper ways to meditate, but if you're interested you can research and find the one that is right for you.
Massage
Massage therapy focuses on a whole body approach to pain. If you suffer from chronic back pain, we will certainly spend some time easing those muscles, but the cause of your pain is likely stemming from other parts of your body. By focusing on the whole body and not just the site of the pain, patients become more aware of their body and where the pain stems from.
Nutrition
If you're carrying around excess weight, chronic pain may be a side effect. If you're looking to drop a few pounds and alleviate pain, talk with a nutritionist about eating healthy. You'll want to incorporate an exercise plan into your daily routine as well.

Your
mom takes care of everyone else in the family, and maybe even has a "real" job
in addition to all the duties she handles at home. This Mother's Day, why not
allow her to relax while someone else takes care of her for a change? In
addition to flowers, a card or breakfast in bed, give mom the gift of a full
day of well -deserved pampering to let her
know how much she's appreciated.
Head to Toe
Chances are, even on her days off your mother is in constant motion. A massage
gives her the opportunity to decompress and forget about child care duties,
housework, her job or the leaky radiator in her car. A soothing Swedish massage
can provide much needed overall relaxation, while a deep tissue massage can
ease away soreness in her muscles and stiffness in her joints.
Complexion Perfection
Of course your mom is beautiful, but that doesn't mean she wouldn't appreciate
a rejuvenating facial treatment along with her massage. In addition to
stimulating the circulation in her skin, a facial provides a gentle massage for
your mom's face, and just feels great. Whether she has dry skin, sensitive skin
or oily skin, our esthetician can apply a masque that is perfect for her
complexion. An exfoliating scrub can ease the look of fine lines, as well as
rid the skin on your mom's face of dead skin cells, oil and debris that can
dull her complexion and trigger breakouts of adult acne
Hands and Feet
Your mother probably spends hours on her feet every day. Whether she's dealing
with housework, finishing an urgent report for work or tending to her garden,
her hands also work hard every day. A mani pedi combo can put a spring back in
your Mom's step and give her hard working hands some long overdue spoiling. If
your mom is traditional, she can go with a clear polish or just a light buff
finish. If she's a bit more daring, she can opt for a vibrant color to show off
her hands or her feet -- or both.
We're the experts when it comes to pampering. Call us at and schedule a couple hours for Mom. We'll tailor our treatments to her unique needs, and when we're done, your mom will emerge relaxed, renewed, and ready to enjoy a special Mother's
Day dinner.

Flowers and a card are wonderful
ideas for Mother's Day, but doesn't your mom deserve more? Juggling household
duties, caring for her family and holding down a part-time or full-time job can
leave marks in the form of facial lines, washed out complexion, ragged nails or
rough neglected feet. Why not treat your mother to the pleasure of your company
and a shared spa getaway? Whether your budget is strictly limited or
money is no object, we have packages available that allow you to bond with your
Mom while she receives the pampering that she surely deserves.
If your budget is limited or both you and your Mom have tight schedules,
packing up and going away for a week or ten days might not be realistic. But an afternoon retreat can make a real difference
in your Mom's state of mind, as well as give her looks a boost. Best of all,
you can plan the mini getaway as a surprise.
Begin your joint pampering session with a soothing wrap or an invigorating salt glow to draw impurities from arms, legs and torso. A professional head
to toe massage can ease away tension for both you and your mother. A chair
massage can ease neck and shoulder tensions without the need to disrobe.
Compare nail colors and enjoy refreshments in advance of joint
mani-pedi treatments. You'll both emerge with hands and feet show-off-ready for
showy rings or strappy heels. Or you and Mom can relax and dish while our
esthetician gives you and your mom exfoliating treatments to cleanse away
debris, dead skin and embedded blemishes.
Whether you and your mother spend a relaxing hour away or duck out of your
routines for an afternoon, a shared spa getaway is an ideal way to let
your mother know how much she means to you. You'll have uninterrupted time to
spend together and she'll have someone waiting on her for a change. Call us at to schedule an appointment today.
